On Saturday 16th October, 1920, the Hazara Lodge No. 4159 E.C. was consecrated at Abbottabad in, of all places, the Racquets Court! The printed program anticipated that W.Bro: Colonel H. W.R. Senior, C.IE., D.S.O., P.Dep.D.G.M (Burma), P.D.G.W. (Bombay.) would carry out the ceremony on behalf of the District Grand Master of the Punjab but, for reasons not recorded, he did not.
Brother Molloy was duly installed as the first Master of the Lodge. Rather curiously, Brother Crowhurst was ” invested as Senior Warden by proxy”. Brother Belcher was the first Junior Warden. Seven candidates for Initiation and eleven for joining were announced but the balloting was left to subsequent meetings. It is worthy of note that, although fifteen Founders were listed on the Consecration Agenda, five of them had (presumably) left Abbottabad and their names never appeared on the Roll of Members.
